Objectives of Job:

The Legal Specialist II supports the legal departments in legal matters.  He/She serves as counsel in any issue with legal implication and helps to solve legal matters effectively. The Legal Specialist II works in close coordination with the Legal Department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Draft and/or review agreements and contracts of the company and advise on legal aspects to ensure consistency with applicable laws and regulations
• Draft and/or review company policies, procedures and decisions with the legal team when required.
• Evaluate latest legal developments relevant to the company activities in manpower, environment protection and those having fiscal effects and report the important of these developments to the legal department manager.
• Give legal support and opinions on different HR related matters and the relevant application of the labor law and regulations especially regarding recruitment, termination, resolving disputes etc.
• Enhance the time management and quality of work.
• Follow up litigation and procedures started by the company or brought against withe the external Law firms including providing documents, files and review of the company defenses, in coordination with other legal consultants engaged.
• Complete accurate weekly reports.
• Plus any other appropriate duties requested by the Legal Department.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• University degree in Law, profound knowledge of Libyan legislation required.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas business desirable (petroleum law, regulations and agreements and the Business).
• Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is essential.
• Works independently.
• Has the ability to strongly defend her/his position.
• In-depth knowledge of administrative law and procedures.
• Good organizational, prioritization and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
